CSI Geo Services

Geotechnical Engineering

CSI Geo’s geotechnical experience extends from bridges over the St. Johns River (Florida’s largest) to cargo port docks, levees, dams, major roadways, site/civil projects, water/wastewater systems, and everything in between. Our familiarity with geotechnical software programs allows us to analyze geotechnical problems from different perspectives. Amongst the programs we regularly use are LPile, FB-Pier, FB-Deep, PCStabl, RESTAB6, Plaxis, SeepW, SlopeW, PONDS, CWALSHT, SPW911, SHAFT98, and Driven.

CSI Geo has pushed the envelope to perfect the science of subsurface soil exploration and evaluation of subsurface conditions that involve performing subsurface borings and the classification of soils, measuring of groundwater levels, muck probing and the review of soil survey maps. CSI Geo also performs laboratory testing of materials, engineering analysis of soil conditions, slope stability and seepage analyses and design.

Our expertise allows us to provide clients with recommendations for design, site preparation and earthwork, as well as the preparation of construction plans and specifications. Design experience includes design and inspection of drilled shafts, driven piles, auger cast piles, cantilevered and anchored sheet pile walls, sound barrier walls, retaining wall systems, pavement design, ground improvement techniques, shallow foundations, seepage and slope stability, groundwater modeling and Evaluation Reports. Our highly-qualified engineers, laboratory technicians, drillers, and management provide the necessary expertise for all geotechnical related tasks. Our soils and materials testing laboratory is provided accreditation services by AASHTO re:source, is inspected by CCRL, and is validated by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Materials Testing Center.

Construction Materials Testing

At our Jacksonville, Florida location we operate a Construction Materials and Geotechnical Testing Laboratory where we perform physical and chemical testing on a wide variety of construction materials including soil, aggregate, concrete, masonry, asphalt, and other construction materials. Our laboratory consists of consist of approximately 900 square feet of space where we operate and maintain a fully equipped soils, concrete, and asphalt-testing laboratory that is provided accreditation services by AASHTO re:source, is inspected by CCRL, and is validated by the USACE Materials Testing Center.

Our staff has extensive testing and inspection experience providing Quality Assurance and Quality Control testing for government (or public) agencies including FDOT, JTA, JAA, JPA and the City of Jacksonville, as well for the private or commercial industry. We have been serving clients in Florida and Georgia for over twenty years from our office in Jacksonville.

CSI Geo understands the important of having a qualified technician onsite to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. We continuously provide training to our technicians to ensure that they have the latest techniques and knowledge of the specifications. Our field and laboratory technicians are qualified through ACI and the FDOT CTQP program. CSI Geo has a reputation for and takes pride in providing high quality services to our clients. The cornerstone for providing this commitment to quality is quality control and quality assurance procedures. CSI Geo has a comprehensive QC/QA program. Our staff is dedicated to performing lab equipment calibrations, maintaining  FDOT lab qualifications, and maintaining CTQP qualifications.
