DAMES POINT MARINE TERMINAL INTERMODAL

The project consisted of the construction of an Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF), which serves to provide JAXPORT customers with direct access to CSX Transportation (CSX) owned rail lines and area interstates. Containers are efficiently transferred between tractor trailers and rail cars, and subsequently transferred to area marine terminals. This facility serves as an integral part of the JAXPORT Northside Terminal system.

CSI Geo’s comprehensive engineering practices led to uncovering variable soil conditions that were significant to the design and construction of this project. The close coordination between CSI Geo, CSX, Jaxport Authority, and Arcadis US ensured the study was performed in an efficient and timely manner.

THE KEYSTONE AIRPARK

The Keystone Airpark is a public use airport located in Keystone Heights, Florida. The airport has two runways and parking aprons capable of handling large aircraft. CSI Geo is a trusted consultant in the geotechnical design of improvements to this airport.

This project included the construction of a 70-foot monopole tower for the new airport rotating aerodrome beacon. The site was located just north of T-Hanger B, on the east side of the airport.

CSI Geo used field and laboratory test data to evaluate design and construction requirements for the proposed beacon, including recommendations for shallow foundations, drilled shafts, site preparation, and earthwork.

MARBLE WATERS HOTEL

CSI Geo was contracted to provide geotechnical engineering for the Marble Waters Hotel is Jacksonville. This project included the construction a four-story hotel and a porte cochère. The roof was constructed with pre-engineered light gauge trusses supporting metal deck and metal roofing. The floor construction consisted of hollow core slabs and concrete topping. The roof and floors were supported with load bearing concrete masonry units (CMU) and structural steel beams and columns. The building is supported on concrete wall and spread footings.

CSI Geo performed geotechnical engineering evaluations of the site and corresponding analysis based on the proposed four-story construction. Our scope of work included performing field and laboratory testing, engineering analyses, and providing earthwork and foundation design recommendations.
