Construction Materials Testing Technician

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials
    (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel). Job sites are located in North Florida Area.
  • Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, client representative, contractor’s
    representative and others as applicable regarding the construction site, project requirements,
    and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.
  • Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for
    further testing and analysis.
  • Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in the form of written and digital reports
    as work is performed for daily transmittal to the CSI Geo Project Manager.
  • Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas.
  • Adhere to strict safety standards.

 

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history, pass background check and drug
    screening
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds
  • Reliable attendance and responsiveness
  • Obtain American Concrete Institute (ACI) and Construction Training Qualification Program
    (CTQP) certifications within 6-12 months of hire (company provided).
  • Ability to read construction plans
  • Proficient in basic math

CEI Senior Inspector

We are looking for a CEI Senior Inspector to support the CEI Team. We work from at home locations.  We also place great importance on our core company values of integrity, excellence, responsibility, stewardship, and dedication while being passionate client advocates dedicated to improving and growing communities. 

General Responsibilities (CEI Senior Inspector)

  • Perform duties associated with the oversight, administration and inspection of transportation projects including roadway and/or bridge to determine contractor’s compliance with contract documents, plans, and specifications.
  • Maintain detailed records of the contractor’s daily operations and events that affect the work; monitor and inspect contractor’s work zone temporary traffic control plan and review modifications to the plan.
  • Record quantities of materials received or used during specified periods.
  • Perform sampling and testing of materials and completed work in accordance with the construction contract.
  • Oversee activities, inspections, reports, and documentation performed by CEI Inspectors.
  • Assist the Project Oversight/Project Administrator.
  • Provide mentorship and support to less experienced team members while serving as lead inspector on multi-inspector projects
  • Responsible for timely communication of events of note and general progress directly to Project Oversight/Project Administrator.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • The required skills shall include a minimum of eight years of experience and shall be physically capable of walking over rough terrain and standing long periods of time.
  • Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history (3 points maximum).
  • Must be over the age of 21 for company vehicle insurance.
  • Obtain ACI and CTQP certifications within 6 months of hire (company provided).
  • Experience with using computers, smart phone tools for web browsing and emails.
  • Ability to read and implement project plans
  • Excellent math skills

Preferred

  • Heavy civil construction experience with FDOT (concrete, soils, asphalt, etc.)
  • ACI Concrete and/or CTQP Certifications
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection – Level I & II
  • CTQP Asphalt Construction Inspection – Level I & II
  • CTQP Final Estimates – Level I or II
  • CTQP Pile Driving Inspector
  • CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspector
  • ACI Concrete Field Certification Level 1 and 2
  • Maintenance of Traffic Intermediate or Advanced
  • Portable Nuclear Gauge Safety & US DOT HAZMAT Certification
